IMD® (Intestinal Metal Binder) is a powder supplement made by Quicksilver Scientific® and is the product that launched the company. It consists of a proprietary, highly purified silica with covalently attached thiolic (sulfur) metal-binding groups.

The sole active ingredient is a proprietary thiol-functionalized silica — an insoluble material designed to bind heavy metals within the gastrointestinal tract so they can be eliminated via the bowels. The silica is covalently modified with sulfur-containing (thiolic) groups, which are the functional sites responsible for binding metals in the intestinal environment.

IMD® is intended for adults working with a healthcare practitioner who directs its use as part of a supervised approach to supporting the body's natural processes for managing heavy metal exposure. It is typically added to a soluble Vitamin C solution, a phospholipid suspension, or food.

The formulation is insoluble, meaning it remains in the gut rather than being absorbed. It is tested allergen-free, tested gluten free, tested soy protein free, tested non-GMO, vegan, and manufactured under cGMP standards.

Silica Extract (Proprietary Thiol-Functionalized Silica) — supports binding of heavy metals in the gastrointestinal tract and their elimination through the bowels; the thiolic (sulfur) groups covalently attached to the purified silica carrier are the functional metal-binding sites, and the insoluble nature of the material means it remains in the gut to support the body's natural processes for managing heavy metal exposure and free-radical neutralization in the intestinal environment.

Add 1–2 scoops IMD to a soluble Vitamin C solution or Phospholipid suspension, or add to food 1–2 times per day as directed by healthcare practitioner.
