Hair Growth+ is a vegetarian capsule formula by Douglas Laboratories, co-formulated with Shelena Lalji, M.D., designed to support healthy hair growth and reduce loss. The formula combines AnaGain™ Nu, a water-soluble pea sprout (Pisum sativum) extract, with a clinically studied blend of grape seed extract, green tea leaf extract, zinc, and taurine.
AnaGain™ Nu is a trademark ingredient of Mibelle Biochemistry derived from pea sprouts (Pisum sativum). In a pilot clinical study, individuals who supplemented with AnaGain™ Nu showed a significant reduction in hair loss and improved hair density. Concurrent enhancement of noggin and fibroblast growth factor 7 (FGF7) gene expression suggests involvement of these proteins in hair follicle induction and hair development. Noggin is a protein required for the induction of the hair follicle growth phase, while FGF7 is a signaling factor required for hair development.
Grape seed extract (Vitis vinifera, 90% polyphenols) provides a unique profile of proanthocyanidins and other polyphenols that support blood microcirculation. Green tea leaf extract is standardized to 98% polyphenols, 75% catechins, and 45% EGCG (epigallocatechin-3-gallate), and is decaffeinated (contains less than 0.5% caffeine). Taurine is an amino acid synthesized in the body. Zinc is supplied as zinc gluconate, an essential trace mineral that requires daily intake as it cannot be stored long-term in the body.
Hair Growth+ is formulated as vegetarian capsules and is gluten-free and Non-GMO. The formula contains 60 vegetarian capsules per bottle (Formula #202565 V2).
